All sins are not the same in their effect on our souls. Some sins are greater than others (Jn. 19:11). One type is eternal (Mk. 3:29), while others are not. Another type of sin is uniquely against our bodies, while others sins are outside our bodies (1 Cor. 6:18). James 4:17 declares that whoever knows to do right but does not do it, to him it is sin. 1 Jn. 5:16 declares there is sin that does not lead to death while there is sin that leads to death. Things like worry (Php. 4:6,7), and not being completely humble and gentle (Eph. 4:2), are not listed in any list of sins that will damn.

The death penalty sins certainly will send any person to hell if they die unrepentant, even a person who was once saved. A general list of these sins in the words of Scripture are: idle words....By your words thou shalt be condemned" (Matt. 12:36-37); evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, an evil eye, blasphemies, pride, foolishness, and bearing false witness...."These are the things which defile a man" (Matt. 15:17-20; Mark 7:19-23); uncleanness, lusts, making God a liar, idolatry, vile affections, a reprobate mind, unrighteousness, wickedness, envy, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness, gossips, backbiters, hating God; being despiteful, violent, proud, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, calloused, and unmerciful...."They which commit such things are worthy of death. . . But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things" (Rom. 1:24-32; 2:1,2); being effeminate, sodomites, revilers, and extortioners...."Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?" (1 Cor. 6:9-11); biting and devouring others, witchcraft, hatred, contentions, jealousies, wrath. strife, selfish ambitions, heresies, envyings, drunkenness, carousing, and such like...."They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Gal. 5:15-21); lying, corrupt words, bitterness, wrath, anger, outbursts, evil speaking, and unforgiveness; filthiness, foolish talking, coarse joking, sexually immoral ...... " For this you know, that no sexually immoral or impure person, or one who is greedy, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." (Eph. 4:25 - 5:6); resisting the Holy Spirit (Acts 7:51); fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness ......" Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience" (Col. 3:5-9); lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power, leading others into sin, faithlessness, and being evil (2 Tim. 3:1-13);  We also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various desires and pleasures, living in evil and envy, filled with hatred and hating each other, (Titus 3:1-3); showing favoritism (James 2:9-12); DESIRING to be a friend of the world (James 4:4; Luke 17:32,33); living in ungodliness, anarchy, presumption, selfwill, and rebellion (2 Pet. 2:9-22); being lovers of the world and of the things of the world (1 John 2:15-17); dreamers that defile the flesh, sowers of discord, terrible words, murmurers, complainers, and mockers (Jude 8-19); seducers (Rev. 2:20); devil worshippers, sorcerers (Rev. 9:20-21); cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire" (Rev. 21:8); and taking from and adding to the Word of God (Rev. 22:18-19).
